L to R: Jake Eisenmann, Rebeca Olivera, Richard Michel, Imani Gibbs and Yan Bohyn (Rotaract President). Back row, Rotarians Jay Berube (red shirt) and Scott Anderson (white shirt).

On April 23, 2011 at our club breakfast meeting, our club’s foundation, a 501 (c)(3) tax exempt organization separate from our club, donated four $1,000 scholarships to four worthy members of our FGCU Rotaract club.

As you can see, each of the recipients were very excited and grateful for their scholarship.  It is through the hard work our club does year round that we are able to donate money to our club foundation.  Our standard practice is to seek to donate $10,000 per quarter, or $40,000 per year, to our club foundation.

Our foundation has its own board of directors, chaired by Fred Partin, who diligently screen all requests for donations and give great care in making decisions about how our funds can best be used to promote Rotary’s ideals in meeting the needs of our local community and those important international projects.

Congratulations to Jake Eisenmann, Rebeca Olivera, Richard Michel and Imani Gibbs on your $1,000 scholarships.  May you continue your hard work in academics and in your community service efforts in Rotaract.  We look forward to the day when you will become a Rotarian and continue in new generations of service to humanity.
